Proverbs 16:3 NIV

My name is Chad Salsman, I am a husband to a beautiful wife named Dawn and father to 7 wonderful kids. I work as a full time farmer up here in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Originally from Nova Scotia, I moved here about 15 years ago. I grew up on a small farm and enjoyed the 4H club (beef calf). I really fell into the cowboy way of life when I came out west and started learning how to ride and rope.

My walk with God started late in my adult life, but better late than never. I was baptized in 2006 at our church, right before I married my wife, but didn’t really start living for God for quite awhile after that. I was a typical Sunday morning Christian, went to church Sunday and forgot it all on the drive home. In 2013 I was in a bad wreck, nobody knew if I was gonna make it.

After my accident my wife reached out to Kevin at Save the Cowboy and asked him to phone me, and he did. It was awesome! Kevin’s phone call gave me the encouragement that I truly needed. I physically pulled through, and after a long road and a few hiccups, I realized I needed to do things differently.

I had listened to Save the Cowboy before the accident and then continued to after. The “meat and tators” approach really speaks to me and that’s why I wanted to become a Save the Cowboy missionary. I want to guide people to the ministry that has helped me so much.
